Camp South Africa

Camp South Africa - AmeriCamp

Camp South Africa has a number of expertise in providing Activity Coaches and Teachers to township schools in South Africa. This is so essential as Sport is not on the national curriculum in South Africa, and so without the help of people like you, they would not get the opportunity to take part in sports at school. After all it was Nelson Mandela’s goal to impact as many children’s lives as possible with sports and fun activities.

Coaching activities such as sport on a weekly basis at Camp South Africa can make such a difference in the children’s development. Just one hour of activities such as sport, although it is only once a week during school which may seem like a small amount to many of us, but not only does it provide these kids with a break from the monotony of their everyday routine and an opportunity to enjoy themselves in an extremely safe environment, but it gives them a chance to boost their confidence and teaches them skills that provide them with endless opportunities in the future. Such as the chance to get scholarships to Secondary School which could benefit them so much due to the lack of funding within education in South Africa.

There is no better feeling in the world at Camp South Africa than seeing one of the children you have been coaching getting chosen for a scholarship at a high level secondary school. To be blunt you can return home knowing you have really made a difference to someone’s life. You just cannot put a price on that kind of feeling.

We give all  Camp South Africa participants support from the start of their application, to arriving in South Africa and right through to the end of their placement. With intake dates throughout the year our Camp South Africa programs are extremely social and we know you will make friends to last a lifetime. Camp South Africa is broken down into three stages for our five week program. (If you wanted to go for longer this can also be arranged and the start dates for those who would like to go longer than 5 weeks are also put below).
